Iraqi Institution for Development (IID)

An independent, non-governmental, and non-profit institution established in 2003. IID works to promote women's education and encourages girls to study and obtain the necessary qualifications to enter the job market. IID provides support to women's schools and implements special programs to teach girls different skills. IID's team visits schools and communities to evaluate their educational needs and provide necessary support. IID also provides psychological and social support to children who are affected by the consequences of armed conflicts and displacement. The institute provides educational programs for children who have been affected by psychological illnesses or whose lives have been impacted by wars and displacement.
IID also supports the empowerment of Iraqi women and their role in communities, through the provision of necessary training and resources to launch their own projects. All of these projects aim to support economic growth, enhance economic opportunities, and improve living standards in Iraq.

Current assistance provided: supporting women in Mosul who have endured the hardships inflicted by ISIS. IID's focus is on providing Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) to these women while facilitating the smooth reintegration of their children into the educational system within the Mosul district.
IID is also actively engaged in a vocational training program for adolescent males who have recently been released from juvenile detention facilities in Mosul. This program is scheduled to run until December 31, 2024.
Through the ""Financial Support and Social Cohesion for the Youth of Talif and Bashiqa Regions"" project, IID provides financial assistance to young individuals and women, encouraging their reintegration into society.
The Bidaya Program, launched by IID at the beginning of 2023, is a vocational training initiative for young individuals released from juvenile detention on terrorism-related charges, in collaboration with the Iraqi Ministry of Justice.
